Many shooting enthusiasts I know love their red-dot sights. They say that getting a sight picture with one is much more instinctual and natural than lining up iron sights. You know, in many ways, I have to agree with them. The red dot is instantly visible as the gun comes up, and with no parallax, once your red-dot is zeroed, it stays that way.
The iTAC RDS1 offers a four MOA reticle with four reticle styles and six intensity settings, plus a unique mode that senses ambient light in your environment and adjusts the intensity accordingly.
The RDS1 Red Dot sight operates for 8,000 hours, yes, thats right, 8,000 hours on one 3V CR2032 lithium battery. You could technically leave the sight on for 10 ½ months straight. Like the rotisserie chicken oven; with this sight you could set it and forget it. Not that you would, of course, but you could.
The iTAC red-dot sight is made of sturdy extruded aircraft aluminum, with a black anodized finish. Mounting options include the Mil-Std 1913 (Picatinny) rail as well as the Weaver rail systems. The sight will fit both. A locking set screw insures it remains tight and secure when you mount it to your gun.
All in all, this is an extremely lightweight yet highly durable, parallax-free sight that will give you a comfortable, sharp, instant and accurate sight picture in all lighting conditions. I highly recommend it.
